if you haven't gone to umebana, this is your sign. going into this unassuming restaurant, i was already taken aback by the customer service, being greeted as i walked in with one of the friendliest faces i have ever seen. it was an enchanting experience, yet the true performance hadn't even begun. the food? well, one way to put it, perfect. my bento? blown away. if you haven't had the blessing of going to umebana, go now. genuinely might have had a religious experience here

Solid option. Wanted some lunch near work and this spot came up. The lady who took my order was extremely friendly. Helped me decide what to get which is always nice when you're at a new place. The hand rolls were a good size for the price and very tasty.

A little spot in the corner of a shopping center in Monrovia. It's easy to miss because of the Wendy's stand in the front blocks the view. I always get it to go because the seating is a little too tight for a comfortable meal for a party of six. I always get the teriyaki chicken and rice. It's so much food that I eat it for two meals. I found the service to be just ok, but it's always been really busy when I've been there.... which is a good sign....

Umebana is a pretty nice Japanese restaurant. I'm really glad it survived even with pandemic times. Service is always friendly and fast. The restaurant is always clean, there is spacious seating and the lighting is perfect (not too bright and inviting). The portion sizes are generous and the quality of food is always on point. We always get some shashimi, rolls and a bento for our family. They offer enough variety even for our littlest eater. I can truly say Umebana is kid friendly because we started coming with one kid, and now with two. They enjoy the miso soup, teriyaki chicken, tempura and California rolls the most. From our last visit, the owner was so sweet, she brought some extra tofu for our daughter to enjoy. Parking in this complex is always ample. I really have no complaints except that we don't get here as much as we'd like to. Bonus points that there's a check in offer for a $1 large Thai tea with boba. It's pretty yummy and STRONG tea :)

10/10. We came here unexpectedly because we just needed to grab a bite to eat. We ordered tuna sashimi, a chicken plate with extra chicken, and some veggie tempura. When we opened our boxes, we saw so much food. Shocked by the amount, we realized we didn't need the extra chicken. It was one of the better quick Japanese food experiences we've had in a while. Tempura, sitting in the box for a bit, was still super crunchy and not greasy. Sashimi portions were generous and the chicken plate was not dry whatsoever.

I first discover this place during Covid. It was an oasis of good food under very trying times. We were looking for Bento on a late Sunday afternoon, to our dismay all the restaurant we contacted or lookup did not serve Bento boxes on weekend. Only weekdays for lunch! Ugggh! I remember Umebana, our quest was rewarded with the most delicious bento box ever. Pretty ambiance with warm colored patio lights. The nicest waitress ever. We left with happy filled bellies. Jobs well done.

Food is very good. Servings are good for the price. Service crew are very friendly and happy . Place is clean . Sits enough people. Check their time schedule before going by calling the restaurant. You will have an impression that this is not a busy place but since we came in till we left a lot of people had been coming in a out. Dine in or take out. I am happy we celebrated our anniversary here . Perfect 10 !

What an affordable yet delicious sushi place. You place an order up front and you can either eat there or take out. Many people were waiting for takeout here but I decided to sit in. Here is what I tried. Sashimi Combo 16 pieces - Honestly was super delicious for $28. Came with tuna, salmon and two other fishes I'm not sure of but it was good. Quality was pretty good especially for the price. Comes on top a bed of lettuce, a side salad with dressing, and miso soups. Would get again. (5/5) Rainbow roll - A classic and nice fresh fish slices on top. It's solid and for $14 can't really complain. (4.5/5) Wouldn't come here if you're trying to go out for nice vibe. If you want solid fresh fish at an affordable price this is a must try. Yelp Checkin gives $1 Thai tea or milk tea. They come in a super large cup so it's pretty worth. Will be back!

Came here for a late lunch on a Saturday, they had a few tables filled up which is a great sign. I've been here many time before, but always forget to write a review. You order at the counter and pay, you can dine in or take it to go. They have plenty of seating which is great. I ordered the #5 I believe which come with 4 pieces of spicy tuna, 4 Cali rolls, crunch roll and a salad and it was very affordable. Oh ya and the spicy salmon hand roll, I cant forget that. Everything was really good, the fish was fresh and well prepared, the dressing for the salad was also good. Def coming back to try the fresh rolls.
